Jimmy Smith

Mr. Jimmy Smith is a UWEC student interning with our school psychologist, Marissa Warren. Mr. Smith was asked to answer a few questions about himself! Here is what he has to say:

What three traits define you?  Patient, understanding, and witty.

What is your personal philosophy? Advocating for and being a resource to help everyone reach their full potential, especially in the educational setting. As John Dewey once said, “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself”.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without? My phone, hands down. 

What is the one thing you cannot resist? Singing along to Taylor Swift

Where is your favorite place to be? Any library or bookstore. 

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why? Probably Boston. I love American history, and there is just so much of it there. I also loved walking down the gaslamp-illuminated cobblestone roads.
 
What does true leadership mean to you? Understanding the value of collaboration, especially before making decisions.

Which one would you want most – flying cars, robot housekeepers, or moon cities? Flying cars

What has been the most important innovation you have witnessed in your lifetime?  Spotify! I am always listening to music.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this? High School history teacher

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be? School counselor 

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13? Step out of your comfort zone more.

How do you define success? Being happy with whatever it is that you are doing 

What is the best book you have ever read? The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
